PhD thesis

"Influence of polarization potential on capacitance of bilayer lipid membranes" Warsaw University, Department of Chemistry, Warsaw, 1997.

Scientific activity

Bilayer lipid membranes are an object of my investigations. I study their electrical properties, dynamics of formation process (Mueller-Rudin method), changes of membrane structure caused by polarization potential, electroporation in chronopotentiometric conditions (current-clamp).

I try to use the lipid bilayers for constructing electrochemical sensors and biosensors. I investigate changes in surface potential of the membranes and possibility of measuring this parameter in BLM-based sensors.

I develope electrical methods for studies of membrane properties. I have constructed computer-controlled system for investigations basic physical properties as capacitance, resistance, thickness, membrane potentials, transport processes, electrocompressibility.

Computer-controlled measurement systems KSP

I construct computer-controlled measurement devices and software for laboratory applications. I present several selected of all.

Valve controller
Investigations of electrical properties of BLMs
Detection systems for Flow Injection Analysis (FIA)
Frequency measurements
Interface and software for measurement and recording potential, pH, titration curves
Software for the KSP measurement system
